A moment that changed everything

While designing Lucy, an AI chatbot at Aesop Labs, I discovered users were having conversations with people they'd lost. Deceased family members. Pets. Nobody designed that use case. It just happened. That's when I understood: the most powerful thing you can design isn't a feature. It's the space for something human to emerge.
